Job Title : IT Technician
Location: Eye, Suffolk
Salary: Up to £32,240

We are looking for a talented IT Technician to join our dynamic team, based on-site in Eye, Suffolk, reporting directly to the Regional IT Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network issues, both remotely and on-site, including within the factory and abattoir.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software, and peripherals to ensure performance and security.
  • Assist in managing the company's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues, documenting solutions and escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Perform system backups, updates, and maintenance to ensure data integrity and system reliability.
  • Monitor system performance, identifying and recommending areas for improvement.
  • Assist with IT projects, from planning to implementation and testing of new hardware, software, or networks.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand and support their IT needs.
  • Maintain an inventory of IT equipment, software, and licences, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies, sharing knowledge with the IT team to drive improvements.

Skills & Experience:
  • Previous experience in an IT support role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with IT security standards and best practices.
